Home description

The apartments are low rise blocks around a central swimming pool, which is set in a lawned area with sunloungers. This is surrounded by well tendered tranquil gardens. The enclosed pool can only be accessed with a key, which operates a gate. This provides some security for the young ones. There is ample parking space to the front of the building where you will also find a telephone stand. The beach can be reached by walking and takes about 35 minutes, or 3 - 5 minutes by car, although you may have to pay for parking. There are showers and toilet blocks at the parking area. To walk to the Marina takes about 30minutes or about 5 minutes in a car. The walk takes you through gardens that separate the dual carriageway that leads out of Vilamoura.

The Algarve region

The Algarve is well known for its golf courses and also for the many attractive fishing villages - and hence, of course, for the seafood, which is delicious. The Atlantic location means although very hot in June, July and August, the heat is not overpowering.The climate remains warm in Spring and Autumn.


Vilamoura area

Worth visiting is the old market town of Loule, and the old town in Faro. Most people like to visit Albufeira as well. Available in the area is Tennis, Golf, Lawn bowls, and deep sea fishing from the Marina. There are numerous pleasure cruises to choose from. Vilamoura has fantastic beaches either side of the Marina. It is possible to walk to Quarteira along the beach and pass the fishing boat harbour, In Quarteira you will find a lovely promenade, a very long beach, restaurants, shops and of course the daily fish and vegetable market. On Wednesday mornings there is a gypsy market on the main dual carriageway, which is definitely worth one visit.

Vilamoura is approximately 25kms. from Faro airport. Taxi fare is about 30 euros. Cheap flights are available from most UK Airports to Faro. Airlines, Fly monarch.com - Easyjet.com, BMI baby.com Ryanair from Stanstead and most UK Tour operators.
Car hire companies are many, but we recommend Zitauto, they are a local Quarteira company that we have been using for nearly 20 years. You collect and drop off on airport, their prices are very competitive.

All bedrooms are equipped with hairdryers, clock radio alarms,and pedestal fans. Off the double ensuite is a small laundry room with washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board. The bedroom has a safe installed. The lounge/diner has A/C and doors leading to a small balcony with table and chairs. Cable and Sky freeview are available on our 42" plasma screen offering BBC and ITV channels. A DVD/VHS player and mini hi-fi complete the package. Which includes a selection of DVD'S and Videos Both lounge and diner seat 6. The modern open plan kitchen has everything you might need for a super stay. The microwave, dishwasher and cooker are integral and the hob is dual fuel. The rest of the kitchen is fully equipped with quality items. Crockery and cutlery is provided for 8, giving you a few spares for guests. There are roller shutters on all windows and doors to keep the sun out and the rooms cool in the heat of the day and also to provide security.


Further details

The journey time from Faro airport is about 30 minutes. The nearest supermarket is 3 minutes away, across the road, where there is also a restaurant. Within a 10 minute walk there are a few restaurants, bars, supermarket, gift shop and Joanne's hairdressers. The local bus stops nearby, going to Faro and Albufeira. There is also a Tourist Road Train that runs regularly to the beach and marina. You pay as you get on. Closeby are tennis courts, lawn bowls, mini golf and of course Vilamoura is home to 5 top golf courses. Aqua parks are not too far away. Vilamoura has a casino with a restaurant and live shows. In the very busy Marina you will find shops, restaurants and bars that stay open till LATE.


Conditions

A damage/breakage deposit is required for larger items. A deposit of 25% is required on booking, the balance to be paid 6 weeks before departure. Maid service is mid week when the towels are changed and the shower rooms and kitchen are cleaned. For those on a 2 week stay there will be a full clean and change of linen at the end of the week as well. Toiletries are provided in the shower rooms and a small welcome pack will be left in the kitchen.

NB: Prices may be subject to change at the owner's discretion.
A key/damage deposit of £200 is payable with the balance, it will be returned after receipt of the keys and the OK from the agent approx. 1 week after. Payment by UK cheque or a Portugese euro cheque will be accepted. A cot and hire chair are available at a cost of £17 and £7 per week.
Once a booking has been agreed upon, I would expect to receive the booking form and deposit within 3 days, full amount if the booking dates are within 6 weeks. I will then confirm receipt by post and update the availability calendar.
