Bye Mills Farm dates from the 17th Century and is set in the idyllic Chew Valley. The Long Room is a spacious open plan, self contained apartment with a private hot tub and garden with its own entrance and parking.

Recently refurbished, the Long Room offers the best in contemporary comforts in a charming 17C beamed room with a kitchenette and ensuite bathroom.

Perfect for a rural retreat Bye Mills is on the banks of the River Chew in a stunning location with beautiful walks in all directions and it is also ideally located for exploring Bristol, Bath and Wells.

The garden of Bye Mills is visited by a large variety of wildlife; owls, kingfishers, woodpeckers, buzzards and kestrels; badgers, deer, hare and maybe or maybe not an otter. You could relax in your private hot tub or in your garden area, beside the river or walk up the field to take in the fantastic views along the valley and to the Pensford Viaduct.

With a large vegetable garden, many fruit trees and several chickens there is often some seasonal produce available at Bye Mills.

Interaction with guest

You will get a warm welcome on arrival and then I will leave you to enjoy your stay and respect your privacy. I live in the adjoining farmhouse and l will be available if required and if I'm in the garden I'm happy to have a chat/answer questions. Bye Mills is family home, the Long Room is entirely separate and hopefully you will enjoy your stay without realising we are around. But, we do have two secondary school children and whilst we will avoid being noisy you may sometimes to hear us.

One pet only is allowed at the owners discretion. Pets are not allowed to be left unattended in the room and must be kept on a lead at all times whilst in the garden as we have our own dog and chickens. Any extra cleaning required will be charged.

We can add an extra bed for one child under the age of 16, the property is NOT suitable for toddlers and young children.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Anne (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
