PLEASE NOTE DUE TO A DECISION MADE BY THE CITY OF LONDON CORPORATION, I AM ONLY ABLE TO OFFER BOOKINGS OF 3 MONTHS OR OVER. I AM SO SORRY ABOUT THIS. I HAVE HAD MANY ENJOYABLE YEARS IN THE PAST LOOKING AFTER HOLIDAY MAKERS AND AM SORRY THIS IS UNABLE TO CONTINUE IN THE SAME WAY. I CONTINUE TO GET MANY ENQUIRIES SO AM TRYING TO MAKE IT CLEAR HERE SO THAT YOU ARE NOT DISAPPOINTED.
Situated in a peaceful, portered block with lifts on the North bank of the Thames near to the Millenium Bridge I provide everything you need for self-catering comfort with more space than normal for a London one bedroomed apartment and if there is something missing, I am happy to try and provide it.
I travel a lot myself, mainly for work, so I know what I need when I am away from home. I have taken this as my benchmark for the apartment. I chose this apartment for its location and my aim is to give you a secure comfortable home from home view of some of the best of tourist spots in London. If you don't feel like walking, just take the lift to the communal roof garden, rest your feet and look at the view!
If you need a place to retreat to after a stressful business day, you can slump in front of all the sport you need.
The flat is furnished in a comfortable, modern style with power shower and bath in the bathroom.
The spacious sitting room and dining area is large with modular seating, dining table and chairs, satellite tv, music player, fax and there is a desk with laptop and FULL INCLUSIVE business broadband facilities including ethernet and wireless.
The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher and microwave as well as washing machine, oven and hob.
The bedroom has a modern four poster bed, very comfortable, and there are large and small hanging wardrobes, dressing table and chest of drawers. There is a sofa bed in the sitting room for additional guests. Please see below re quotes.
The bathroom is simple and streamlined with white suite and has a power shower over the bath and mixer taps with hand shower.
It is furnished with simple, modern classic, great looking good quality furniture and has recently been redecorated and given a new washing machine, oven and hot plates.
Further details
The flat will comfortably accomodate 4 people . The reason I don't always advertise specifically really that it is on a party by party basis, check which rate you are looking at.
I take children, just to say there are hard surfaces in the flat which is why I have marked children under 5. There is the recent addition of a portable Samnsonite cot.
I am sorry that pets are not allowed unless obviously a guide dog. The flat is a non smoking flat.
Whilst Wheelchair access is easy into the block, and there are adequate lifts to the fifth floor, the front doors to the flats themselves are rather narrow and the flat/ bathroom is not equipped. However recently a wheelchair user has stayed at the flat with no discomfort although please note the shower is over the bath itself.
Smoking allowed on the roof only.
Further details indoors
As I say the flat is completely equipped, including air cooling, but if there is something you might need or like to have, let me know and I will try to provide it. It is also suitable for corporate long lets and has had several in the many years I have been doing this. Therefore the flat is really equipped for a home from home. I personally travel a lot and know what I need when I go away!
The kitchen is fully equipped. There is a washing machine in the flat and there is also a laundry in the basement providing larger pay machines and hot air dryers (pay. 50p)
The spacious sitting room has a large modular corner sofa in neutral colours, a double sofa bed, a dining area with glass table and four chairs. There is also a desk for any writing you may wish to do and a laptop and printer provided for your use.
There is a fax facility via the laptop and printer and wireless and ethernet internet is free unless the internet provider deems your use unreasonable!
The flat has electric oil heaters and is supplemented with an air cool/heat system from the block.
There is a double sofa bed which just pulls out.
There is a porter downstairs who lives on the premises and is very helpful. He speaks a number of languages including French Italian and English.
There is an NCP car park 5 mins walk away in Vintry and a few parking meters just 1 minute from the flat. Otherwise, ask me about parking.
There is a Nuffield Health (formerly Cannons) gym with pool 5 mins walk away. The Retreat there provides massage and comprehensive beauty treatments etc together with osteopathy, and physiotherapist. Membership is NOT required for The Retreat area there and its services.
There are a number of good hairdressers in the area, about a 7 mins walk away including Vidal Sassoon, Rush and Oasis There are small supermarkets around the area keeping long hours. If you like a walk to build your appetite the historic Borough Market, the breadbasket of London, can be found by London Bridge and Southwark Cathedral.
Across the Millenium Bridge, next to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, there are many restaurants of varying price ranges and styles. On the North Bank there are also many to choose from including three 'around the corner', including a very nice wine bar with organic produce. There is also a 'secret' cafe very close by, known mainly to the locals, nice food relaxed and modern, inexpensive. You have to ask me!
There is a public facility for hire bicycles, nicknamed "Boris Bikes", right around the corner.

Please note that despite what it says on the site, I have been with Holiday Lettings since 2007. Their new embed is not accurate in my case for some reason but they cannot change it at the moment. As you will see from my guestbook, my review from Clare in the guestbook was from my first guest.
Now to the apartment. Urban on one side. River on the other. And has to be one of the best views in London from the roof.
Although there is a main thoroughfare close to the flat, this does not affect its peacefulness.
Bear in mind this apartment is in the historic Square Mile or City of London as opposed to City of Westminster. It is on the North Bank of the River Thames. However the South Bank is literally a five minute walk away over either Southwark Bridge or the Millenium Bridge and there you have the Globe Theatre, masses of restaurants & bars, The Tate Modern and Borough Market. It is also a 5/10 minute walk from St Pauls which hosts cafes, restaurants, Marks & Spencer Foods, various shops. Cheapside, the ancient market place of the old city of London, is now a smart area for various kinds of retail, including Tesco's for food. At the weekend the City is quiet from workers, but the above facilities remain open. There are two restaurants 3/4 mins walk from the apartment on the River Bank by the Millenium Bridge together with The Samuel Pepys which has an enviable view over the Thames. Occasionally marathons are held which go past the front door or events in the City so please check with the owner on access when travelling to and from. Further information on travel can be read on the Transport for London site.
There are many transport opportunities within 5/10 mins walk taking you into the West End or out to the Olympics or Wimbledon.
