One of six charming self-catering converted houses in the grounds of Pekes, a Tudor Manor House, Gate Cottage was originally built in 1911 for ‘Willie the coachman’. It is a quite small but sweet county cottage (sleeping 4-6)

The cottage is situated in the grounds of a private estate. It has its own secluded, large garden, mainly trees and grass, which is safely enclosed making it suitable for small children and dogs.

This tile-hung cottage is cosily furnished with floral country prints and colours, fitted carpets and a mixture of furniture making it a very restful place to stay. The TV/Living room has a working fireplace, and the dining room and kitchen are fully equipped for up to 6 guests. There are two bedrooms, a sofa-bed and a bathroom with electric shower over bath. It is very tranquil and has lovey views over the park and countryside.

Pekes Houses in East Sussex, situated 10 miles inland from the sea, is within easy driving distance of Brighton, Eastbourne and Lewes. A private estate up a drive of 350 yards with unspoilt views of the countryside, Pekes offers unique self-catering holidays in a very tranquil rural setting. Guests can use the facilities which include an indoor heated swimming pool, hard Macadam style tennis court and extensive gardens & park.

Included are central heating and hot water, a fully equipped kitchen, and all linen, towels, essentials and cleaning.

We are son glad that Emma-clare enjoyed her new stay at Pekes so much, and had a really good look into all the things to do round here. We were all very concerned about her insect problem, and our team went immediately to investigate. They did find a couple of very small spiders inside, and ants outside (dealt with). I haven't heard any si,ilar comments from other Giests there. It may be that it was hot and the windows were open - country life as she says! Kildare Pekes manor

Once again another wonderful stay with the dogs. Both Pekes Manor and Gate Cottage are very special places, so beautiful and peaceful and the staff are really lovely and welcoming.

We had a lovely relaxing stay at the Gate House. The views are amazing and the cottage is very cosy. We will definitely be staying again!
