From the owner

This cottage is a delightful Irish hideaway in a two-hundred-year old restored stone barn in County Kilkenny, Ireland. You will sleep well in the cosy hand made bed and stroll along the ancient footpaths in the private native woodlands - be careful not to disturb the fairies there! Our property has views to the Blackstairs Mountains for hill-walking and the River Barrow meanders through our town with house boats moored along the quays.

There is a fully equipped open plan kitchen, a wood burning stove fireplace, a private terrace for relaxing on at the end of the day of exploring and access to washer and dryer for getting the mud off if your outdoor adventures are really physical.

Yes, you can bring your dog(s). We request you clean up after them and that they not be allowed upstairs in the guest bedrooms.

COVID 19 - Because the issue of hygiene is so important I have taken steps to address how the cottage is thoroughly cleaned. I have hired a professional cleaning service to clean the place between each visit and to do a 'deep' clean every month. This service has attended professional COVID 19 training with the hotel group they also work with. I have added a €15 cleaning fee to the cost of the rental which is about one third of the total cost of the service. Visitors can be assured that the cottage is a safe place to visit.

Interaction with guest

I live and work from the adjacent main house so if you need something just ask, though I will respect your privacy during your stay. There are plenty of tourist information leaflets in the cottage and I am happy to chat to you about local interest if that is what you would prefer. Graig-na-Managh is a lovely small town with a large abbey from 1204 and some lovely walks along the river.
