This delightful property is full of original features and plenty of character and has just one double bedroom and a single futon suitable for a child, so is best suited to a couple or a young family. This grade II listed building - a pretty stone and slate structure â is situated on the owner's working farm on the edge of the village of Mickleton. This property was once the gardener's cottage though the property has undergone a tasteful and imaginative conversion since. The cottage now provides very comfortable and well-equipped accommodation with a number of character features such as sloping ceilings and exposed timber beams. There is also and open-plan living area which incorporates a kitchen, dining table and sitting area which also has an electric coal effect fire. Surrounded by spectacular Teesdale countryside, this charming little building is well-positioned to offer visitors the very best of what the region has to offer.

Note: One well-behaved dog welcome. Note: The property is suitable for 2 adults and 1 child.

Amenities: Oil central heating with electric fire in sitting area. Combination microwave oven, electric hob, fridge, TV, portable stereo/CD player, WiFi. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Highchair on request. Ample off road parking. Pretty shared sitting area to front of cottage with garden furniture. One well-behaved pet welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Private brown trout fly fishing on farm. Shops 1 mile, pubs 10 mins walk. Note: This property is suitable for 2 adults and 1 child.

Region: From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

Town: Situated in the heart of beautiful Teesdale close to the villages of Romaldkirk and Middleton is the small hamlet of Mickleton. Within Teesdale and just a few miles from the market town of Barnard Castle, this pretty village consists primarily of a cluster of stone houses set along a single street. With a post office, village shop and two pubs, Mickleton has everything a visitor could need. However for more specific amenities, Barnard Castle provides a huge range of shops, restaurants and pubs. Just on the doorstep are The Pennine and Teesdale Ways, providing beautiful walking routes through the local countryside. The River Tees and magnificent waterfalls at High Force are also close by.

Nice area, good for walks, cycle rides and pubs. However the Agency's description of the property is very misleading. The property is very small and indescribably dark inside - you will have the… More
