Seaborne was built in the early 1800s by Master Mariner, Frederick Seaborne, and has recently undergone an extensive, eco-friendly renovation using lime plasters, Earthborn claypaints, and sheep's wool insulation amongst other materials. Seaborne is now a stunning newly renovated house with modern kitchen, open plan sitting room, five double/twin bedrooms. Our house is on a quiet one-way street with good access to nearby shops and the beach. Great for staying in the picturesque and family-friendly town of Newport, Pembrokeshire on the north coast of south-west Wales. There's easy access for the coastal path, sandy beaches, sailing, art galleries, potteries, award-winning restaurants and Neolithic, Bronze and Stone age standing stones and monuments nearby.
Seaborne has a large 40m long south-facing garden, patio and outdoor seating area, wet-room/drying room for beach trip cleanups and external boat/kayak storage. There is a barbecue and upper garden eating and sitting out area and garden hut/studio with lovely views. On the ground floor there is a flat screen TV, fast fibre-optic wifi, and under-floor heating. There are plenty of mod cons in the kitchen: dishwasher, gas hob cooker, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge freezer, microwave, coffee machine and a good selection of chefs' equipment and appliances. There is seating and eating for up to 12 (6 adults, 4-5 children, 1 baby maximum), either in the modern, glass-roofed breakfast room or out on the patio just outside.
There is on-street parking outside the house (no yellow lines) or a nearby public car park for which you can buy a weekly parking permit. Bed linen, and bath towels are included in the rental, and beach towels can be provided at a small extra cost. A travel cot with freshly laundered linen and a high chair are available for one infant at a small charge. In winter, a wood burner in the sitting room is provided with a supply of logs. We can arrange groceries in advance of your arrival and we provide a welcome pack of locally sourced produce. Two well-behaved pets can stay by arrangement at a small extra cost but no animals must be allowed on furniture and any mess must be cleared up by guests at the time. There is strictly no smoking in the house.
The hot tub is kept at 38.5 deg C and is serviced in between each booking so that it is always filled, warm and clean, ready to use. Use of the hot tub is optional and must be booked separately, with extra charges which are not yet included on your total amount, and would depend on the time of year you opt to use it.
Smaller party bookings of 6 or 4 in off-season (November - March, excluding school holidays) are discounted - just ask for details.
Mobile phone signal is patchy, depending on your provider. Wifi provided can support mobile wifi use if you have this function downloaded.
Working from home: although we offer Wi-Fi and fibre broadband, this is a residential address so facilities for “working from home” are not guaranteed. Our Wi-Fi is supplied by a third-party and we do not always have 100% control over its functioning. If you need guaranteed Wi-Fi access and have lots of Zoom calls and meetings during your stay, you should ensure that you make arrangements for alternative office rental during the day. Seaborne House is designed to be a holiday accommodation, not an office.
Please leave the house clean and tidy at the end of your stay. A seven-night stay includes a weekly clean but any additional cleaning required will incur an extra cost
No smoking in the house, but it is permitted to smoke outside provided you clean up your stubs
If you come in muddy or sandy from the mountain or the beach, please enter the house through the rear, into the wet room in order to clean up
Pets are welcome but for an extra £45/pet. No pets are allowed upstairs please or on the furniture
All extra charges will be billed on a separate invoice after your confirmation through TripAdvisor.
